29. Coping

In this episode of ‘Humans of Authenticity,’ I am thrilled to bring you an interview with Fawn Germer, a four-time Pulitzer Prize nominee and a best-selling author of nine books, including an Oprah book. She is one of three women speakers in the top 15 keynote speakers on the prestigious Global Guru list. Her journey is a source of inspiration, and I am privileged to introduce her to you this week.

Fawn’s journey is a tapestry of life lessons woven from her many ups and downs. She shares insights from her adventurous experiences like cross-country cycling and kayaking and the coping strategies she learned from her mother’s long illness. Her story is a testament to the importance of living fully without waiting for permission. In this interview, I’ve learned that the essence of life lies in each moment we are present with what is in front of us. Fawn’s story is a reminder to find joy in all moments, like the feeling of water brushing through our skin when swimming or the joy of being kissed by manatees in the water. The conversation also explores the themes of accepting, coping, and adapting to changes in different settings, as well as the significance of gratitude and resilience. Fawn’s upcoming 10th book carries a powerful message: ‘Don’t wait,’ and the joy of finding beauty in everyday life.
